Conveyancing Legal Secretary
We are seeking a proactive, organised and experienced Legal Secretary to join our team. The successful candidate will support our lawyers in mainly conveyancing work. Experience in probate matters is a plus. This role combines substantive legal support with secretarial/administrative duties, and offers an excellent opportunity to grow your career in a reputable law firm.
Responsibilities
- Handle full range of conveyancing matters such as purchase & sales, development projects.
- Prepare legal conveyancing documentation and handle e-lodgement/e-stamping etc.
- Communicate with clients, banks and related parties relating to the conveyancing process.
- Provide administrative support in legal documentation and secretarial work to the lawyers in the conveyancing department (eg conducting searches, billing, opening and closing files, managing and keeping deadlines, book appointments and arrange meetings with clients, estate agents.)
- Ensure smooth completion of conveyancing transactions.
- Other secretarial duties assigned by lawyers, you may be called upon to assist the lawyers in other matters undertaken by the Firm such as probate matters.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a conveyancing secretary in a law firm.
- Proven experience with e-litigation or electronic court filing systems.
- A diploma in legal studies or a related field.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- A team player with good attitude and sense of responsibility.
- Courteous and with good interpersonal skills, able to deal with clients & queries.
- Meticulous, well-organised and can work well under time constraints, able to work long hours when required.
- Proficient in spoken and written English; able to communicate orally in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications and WordPerfect.
- Familiarity with the conveyancing process, including completing and filing stamp duty forms and Land Registry applications.
Due to quota constraints, the position is intended for Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.
